Poway resident, Elena Skopintseva, wanted to celebrate her birthday with friends. She wanted a special theme for her birthday so she contacted Artful Chefs. We planned a Chef Experience Dinner Party for her. She wanted Italian cuisine so we helped her guests prepare one of our favorites.
Our lemon chicken piccata has a delicious wine reduction sauce which is finished with colorful sun dried tomatoes and capers. We also helped Elena to prepare a very special dessert with lemon curd from lemons in her garden.
We bought organic produce and herbs to prepare tapenade while they practiced knife skills. They learned to caramelize mushrooms and onions in stainless pans for creamy risotto. They learned about making wine sauces in non-reactive pans and how to make a delicious fond. They learned to make mirepoix and the health benefits of low and slow cooking.
As they enjoyed their meal, we cleaned the kitchen and load up our equipment.
