North County San Diego Culinary Camp with Artful Chefs
Every summer, Artful Chefs opens its commercial kitchen in North County to kids ages 6 to 15. Our week long kids summer camps are from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Beginning the last week of June and continuing through the month of July, offer our hands on and fun filled day camps with two different themes.
We offer two sessions of Italian Bistro week. Every day our Jr. Chefs will learn to master the basics of culinary arts. They will learn knife skills and knife safety. They will learn stove top safety and stove top skills like saute and simmer.
Kids will use whole foods we purchase locally every day. If you kid is a fussy eater, here is a chance for them to try something new. We have proven that when kids are actively involved in preparation, they are more likely to eat their food.
Every day at summer camp, kids prepare a balanced lunch to enjoy as a group. All the kids at our culinary camps work in teams with professional chefs. Kids are constantly learning kitchen safety including kitchen sanitation safety. We stress the importance of teamwork, positive attitudes and applaud one other’s accomplishments. Most of all, everyone has fun learning new skills which will last them a lifetime.
We also offer two sessions of International Cuisine Boot Camp. Every day is based on the different theme of International cuisine. Jr. chefs will be constantly learning basic culinary skills while enjoying Asian, Mexican, Italian, French and Eastern Vegetarian foods. This week is filled with learning the basics of culinary skills and kitchen safety. We will be using whole foods which are purchased fresh daily and processed by the all during the hands on kids cooking classes. Then every day the will enjoy eating what they have created for a well balanced lunch.
