Cupcake themes are our specialty.
Cupcake themes for adult team building and birthdays for kids are so popular.
Cupcake themes are all the rage now. Cupcake jewelry, cupcake stores, cupcake blogs, and of course, The Cupcake Wars program on Food Network. All are gaining popularity right now. Adults love the competition and the creativity of team building events with cupcake themes. Kids are asking for Cupcake Wars Birthday parties.
Done right, cupcake theme parties are educational and super fun. Learning to bake cupcakes from scratch is a great thing to experience. But how do you make sure to use a recipe that will work for everyone? Trial and error. We tested our recipes for weeks before settling on our basic competition recipe.
Baking a cupcake involves a lot different chemical reactions. The baking powder and baking soda reacts with the other components and heat to create gas. Gas and moisture expand and create caverns in the cake. This is the reaction that creates a crumb texture and makes the cake lighter. Too much of one chemical or not enough of another will result in a cake that doesn’t rise or is too dense. So when you are choosing your recipes for your cupcake themes party, make sure to try the recipe a few times.
Contestants will want to be very creative with their cupcakes, so you need to provide enough options to keep everyone happy. At the same time, you should make sure the options are going to work with the basic recipe you provide. For instance, if you want to provide fresh lemons to juice for the batter, how much juice should be added so it isn’t too thin. If you are providing different extract flavors, knowing how much of each one is recommended would be important.
Having a plan to keep track of each team’s cupcakes when they come out of the oven is also important. If there is only one oven, how many pans can you fit in at once?
The important thing to remember is to have FUN.
