Mike’s Hard Lemonade challenged Artful Chefs to lead a group of regional sales executives in an adrenaline filled team building event at the Del Mar Marriott in February. They wanted an event with lots of fast moving team interaction, plenty of strategic planning, and they wanted it to be FUN!
The team building event which Mikes hard lemonade selected was the action packed chili cook off where participants are broken up into teams and compete for the title of Chili Masters.
At the beginning of the event, each team created a special south western salsa to enjoy as an appetizer. The three salsas were Pico de Gallo, Mango and pineapple, and cucumber and jicama.
All ingredients for the chili cook off event were available grocery store style for the teams to create their special chili’s. Each team received basic culinary instruction on how to create the most flavorful chili possible in 1 1/2 hours. Our chef coaches were there to assist each team in creating their masterpiece chili recipe. The three people on the judging panel for the chili cook off event included the head chef , the head of the catering department at the Marriott and Chef Pharrell, the owner of Artful Chefs. After the judging was complete, everyone enjoyed sampling all of the chili’s with fresh cornbread and a southwestern style salad.
